NARSAMPET: An Intermediate first year student was injured when she jumped from a moving auto noticing that the auto driver had diverted the vehicle from the route.
The girl was travelling in her relatives’ auto rickshaw to go to college but another person, who was sitting along with the driver, turned back in an attempt to gag her. Realising a threat, the girl jumped from the auto to save herself. The incident took place at Pakhala road of Narsampet town in Warangal district.
The girl, who sustained injuries on her hands and legs, was shifted to a private hospital. The victim shuttles between Gurijala village of Chennaraopet mandal and Narsampet to attend her college.
Narsampet police registered a case under sections 365 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and two persons were taken into custody. They were identified as Punjala Ramesh and Golconda Ashok and are being questioned by SHO Shivasambi Reddy of Narsampet urban police station.
