Apoorva Lakhia’s latest directorial venture Thoofan, which is the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1973 Bollywood film Zanjeer. Ram Charan rocks again as angry young man. Toofan is a perfect cop story which does not deviate from the plot and there is no separate comedy track in the film which is a good sign but not for fun lovers. Coming to the story…..

ACP Vijay Khanna(Ram Charan) is definitely an honest and aggressive cop. After a problem with a few ruling party people in Hyderabad, he’s moved to Mumbai. Vijay is assigned using the analysis from the violent murder of the deputy collector. While investigating a deputy collector’s murder case in Mumbai, he faces off an oil mafia don Rudra Pratap Teja (Prakash Raj), who gets him suspended using his Money and influence. With the help of Sher Khan (Srihari), crime reporter Jay Dev (Tanikella Bharani) and NRI girl Maya (Priyanka Chopra), how Vijay takes revenge against Teja will form the rest of the story.

Ram Charan Teja’s power packed and electrifying performance is the main highlight in it.
Javed-Ejaz have choreographed action for the film, which look raw and real. The attention paid to getting the action sequences right is highly commendable.
Anjjan, Chirantan Bhatt, Anand Raj Anand’s background scores are other big highlights of the film Thoofan.

Toofan movie ends weakly in terms of story and screenplay.
The romantic episodes between Charan and Priyanka Chopra could have been a lot better.
The songs in the telugu version are a big headache except ‘Mumbai Ke Hero’ song.
Director failed to exploit the potential of pruiyanka chopra and srihari.
Comedy quotient is also quite low.
This is not a Telugu movie and Charan’s traditional fans will miss the mass masala entertainment that is normally found in his films.

Thoofan is an action thriller and as a matter of fact ram charan succeeded partly in reprising the role of Amitabh ji.
Priyanka Chopra is ok. She looks pretty hot in the ‘Mumbai Ke Hero’ and ‘Pinky’ songs. Sri Hari is effective as Sher Khan. Tanikella Bharani has given a dignified performance as the courageous crime reporter.
Prajash Raj is very cool as the mafia Don Teja. He is well supported by Mahie Gill, who appears as Mona. Their conversations are filled with ‘double meaning’ dialogues that might work with B and C center people.
Rest of the supporting cast done justice to their respective roles.
